PatchMyPath is a free and open source Windows application for managing multiple GTA IV, GTA V and RDR2 installations. It allows you to quickly switch between them, so you can have separate folders for playing GTA Online/Red Dead Online and single player with mods. PatchMyPath is compatible with all game versions and stores (Rockstar Warehouse, Rockstar Games Launcher, Steam and Epic Games Launcher). You can even use external tools like alloc8or's Launcher Bypass or hooks like Dot's RedHook2!

Please note that PatchMyPath does not supports pirate copies of Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto V.

  • Extract the contents of the compressed file
  • Run PatchMyPath.exe

After opening PatchMyPath, press the cog wheel to open the Settings window. Navigate to the tab of the games that you plan to use and click Detect. This will try to fetch the locations of the game that you plan to use. If the application was unable to detect the location of your game(s), you can press Select to browse and manually select the correct folders. After filling the game locations, press Save.

If the application detects that a game folder is already present, you will be asked if you want to rename it. Press Yes if you want to keep it and rename it, otherwise is going to be deleted.

After setting the game location, you can configure the launcher that will be used to start the game. Make sure that you select the correct launcher for your copy:

  • Executable: When you want to start the game directly from the EXEs
    • Uses LaunchGTAIV.exe, PlayGTAIV.exe, GTAVLauncher.exe or RDR2.exe to launch the game
  • Rockstar Games Launcher: For copies purchased on the Rockstar Games Launcher (previously called Rockstar Warehouse)
    • Uses LaunchGTAIV.exe, PlayGTAIV.exe, GTAVLauncher.exe or RDR2.exe to launch the game
  • Steam: For copies purchased on Steam or non-Steam copies added as a "Non Steam Game"
    • Uses the Steam Network Protocol to launch the game with the appid's 12210 for GTA IV, 271590 for GTA V and 1174180 for RDR2
  • Epic Games Store: For copies purchased on the Epic Games Store
    • Uses the EGL Network Protocol to launch the game with the IDs 9d2d0eb64d5c44529cece33fe2a46482 for GTA V and Heather for RDR2

Please note that having some files in your game directory might change the way that your game is started:

  • RAGEPluginHook.exe: Uses the Rage Plugin Hook executable to start GTA V
  • GTAVLauncherBypass.asi: Uses alloc8or's Launcher Bypass by launching GTA5.exe
  • RedHook2\Loader.exe: Starts RedHook2 via Loader.exe after booting RDR2 with the launcher selected in the previous step
  • ScriptHook\rdr2d.exe: Uses Tuxick's ScriptHook to start RDR2

Once you are done changing the game launcher, press the Save button. You are now ready to use the application.

To add installs, you can use the Duplicator tool to create new game folders without loosing storage space. If you don't want to use the Duplicator tool, you can press the + button to add existing installs manually.
